Eren Jäger is a member of the Exploration Battalion and the main protagonist of the series. He lived in Shiganshina District with his parents and Mikasa Ackerman until the fall of Wall Maria. During the incident, Eren helplessly witnesses his mother's death at the hand of a Titan. This event arouses in Eren an intense hatred towards the Titans.

Subsequently, we learn that Eren possesses the powers of the Titans, the Assailant and Original Titan from his father, who transmitted them to him.
